Shimano built this one to celebrate the launch of the new XTR component group, and it shows in the details — the shimmery silver finish and dual metal BOA Li2 dials are meant to echo the look of XTR itself. It is a limited special edition, so when the sizes are gone they are gone.
Underneath the finish it is a full S-Phyre race shoe: carbon fiber composite sole at outsole stiffness grade 11, so almost nothing is lost to sole flex when you stand on the pedals. The heel cup has anti-twist stabilization to keep the foot planted through hard accelerations, and the perforated upper adds ventilation and a little give, which helps if your feet are on the wider side.
