S-Phyre is the top of Shimano's range, and the RX910 is the stiffest shoe in this lineup at outsole grade 12. That number is the whole story for a racer: a stiffer sole means less of your effort is spent flexing the shoe and more of it reaches the pedal, which is exactly what you want in a gate start where the whole race can be decided in three pedal strokes.
It uses a TPU outsole over a carbon fiber composite sole and midsole, with the new Pontoon cleat system for a secure, stable shoe-to-pedal interface. The BOA dial lets you adjust tension mid-ride with one hand, and an external curved heel cup stops the foot twisting and rolling under load. Dual drain holes let water out on a wet day and add airflow on a hot one.
