This is the brake to fit when the rider has small hands. The BL-UR405 lever, part of Shimano's CUES series, uses a Short Reach design that starts the lever blade 20% closer to the handlebar than a conventional lever, which for a younger rider or anyone with short fingers is the difference between grabbing at a brake and actually controlling it.

Behind it, the BR-MT410 is a lightweight two-piston post mount caliper with a genuinely long service life. It responds quickly and, just as importantly, the pistons reset fast, which is what gives it reliable braking with good modulation rather than a wandering bite point. One Way Bleeding and the Easy Hose Joint System make maintenance and hose replacement much easier than they used to be.
