If you race flat rather than clipped, the AE03 is HT's answer: a slim, light alloy platform built for BMX rather than adapted from mountain biking. At just 11 mm thick it keeps your foot close to the axle, which makes the bike feel more connected underneath you and leaves more clearance through ruts and berms.

The body is extruded and then CNC machined, so it holds a precise shape and takes pedal strikes without deforming. Replaceable grip pins bite into your shoe for a secure hold, and being replaceable means a sheared pin is a cheap fix rather than a new pedal. HT's EVO+ bearing system keeps the spin smooth through wet and muddy race days, and at 352 g a pair there is no weight penalty for the durability.
