The 36 hole drilling of the 451 alloy race rim, in the brakeless profile for disc brake bikes. More spokes means the load is shared more ways, so this is the build for a heavier rider, a rear wheel, or anyone who has taped a cracked rim back together at a national and would rather not do it again.
It is double walled 6061 T6 aluminum with the internal geometry optimized so material sits where the load actually is, holding the weight to 264 g even with the full spoke count. Angled nipple holes let each spoke enter the rim at a straighter angle, which builds a more rigid wheel that stays true. The black anodized finish is single-process polished and wears far better than paint.
