What separates the XLS-2 from the XLS-1 is engagement. Three pawls with five teeth each ride on a 120-tooth internal ratchet, so the hub bites almost immediately rather than letting your first hard pedal stroke disappear into slack. It is lighter too, at 1392 g the pair, on the same 6061-T6 double wall rims laced with 14G steel spokes.
Ready for V-brake braking out of the box, with a CenterLock rear hub that converts to disc later. Supplied without a cog, and the CenterLock to ISO converter is a separate purchase.
