The XTR M9100 series is Shimano's most versatile top-tier group, covering cross-country, enduro and marathon racing, and it has proven itself at the highest level of BMX competition as well. This is the right/rear brake in gray.

The M9120 uses a four-piston aluminum caliper for serious stopping power, paired with an ergonomic carbon lever that is 10% stiffer than the M9000 it replaces. That stiffness matters: less flex in the lever means more of your hand movement goes into the pads. Servo Wave technology brings the pads to the rotor faster, so the bite point arrives sooner in the lever stroke and you get more usable modulation through the rest of it. A magnesium master cylinder keeps weight down at 260 g.

It ships as a J-kit, meaning the hose is not connected at the lever, which makes internal frame routing far easier to do neatly. Note that it is supplied without a disc.
