The value end of Shimano's off-road range, and a sensible first clipless shoe. It still gets the BOA Fit System, which is the part most riders notice day to day — dial it in, ride, adjust on the fly, no straps flapping loose.

The lacing pattern is engineered to balance tension from the toe to the instep rather than clamping in one place, and the seamless midsole and upper work together to keep the foot stable. Outsole stiffness is grade 5, which is a deliberate choice at this level: stiff enough to pedal against, soft enough to walk in comfortably. Shimano use 26 percent recycled mesh in the upper and midsole by weight.
