The flat mount version of XT's two-piston caliper, and the one to fit if your frame uses flat mount rather than post mount. It takes the same frame interface as a road flat mount setup.
The advantage over post mount is visual as much as practical: it tucks in close to the frame for a clean, compact look with no adapter bracket standing proud. Shimano are clear that you give up nothing for it, since it delivers the same braking power as the post-mount two-piston BR-M8100. Ice Technologies handles heat, and it works with 140, 160 and 180 mm rotors. Fitted with L04C metal pads.
